Breast Cancer Walk for former employee, Karen Parr
Suzanne (Parr) Olson: 9/11/2003
Karen Parr worked at Wawasee High School in the 1980s (when I went to school there) and in the early 1990s. She worked in several capacities, first as an aide in the library annex, then as a teacher in the alternative school, and finally as Dean of Students. She touched many lives at Wawasee and loved the time she spent with all of her students. Karen was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1994, and despite aggressive treatments and a positive, hopeful attitude, she died in April 1996. This November I am going to be participating in the Breast Cancer 3-Day sponsored by the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. I am going to be walking 60 miles over the course of three days to help raise money to support research, education, and prevention of this terrible disease. I am requesting that anyone who is interested in fighting this disease make a tax-deductible donation to help support this cause. Maybe you never met my mom, but you probably know someone who has been impacted by this terrible disease. Just visit the website listed above to make a donation or e-mail me at suzanneolson1@hotmail.com and I will gladly send you a donation form. Proceeds from your donation benefit the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation and the National Philanthropic Trust. Thank you so much for taking the time to read this. Suzanne Parr Olson
